Safran Passenger Innovations is now RAVE Aerospace, adopting the name of the company’s flagship inflight entertainment platform following divestiture from Safran. The organization, now owned by Kingswood Capital Management, will continue to operate with its existing leadership team as it seeks to “accelerate its growth as a leading global provider of in-flight entertainment and connectivity solutions for airlines, lessors, and aircraft manufacturers worldwide.”
With our partnership, we’ll be able to unlock opportunities for accelerated growth, expansion, and investment in cutting edge technologies that will redefine the in-flight experience. With the dedication of our people and the strength of our leadership team, I am confident we will shape a future that benefits our customers and employees alike.
– Matt Smith, CEO of RAVE Aerospace
The company continues to emphasize its connected IFE experience, touting lower costs for airlines and the ability to support evolving marketing and revenue opportunities for airlines. Many of those advances are tipped for the Gen 5 iteration of the RAVE IFE platform, currently under development. It is expected to ship to seating suppliers in 2027 for integration and deployment on aircraft in 2028. Will operating as a standalone company enable faster development iterations? Time will tell.
Perhaps less impressive, and also less significant, the rave.aero URL is not active with the rebranding launch. It is owned by SPI, however, and seems likely to be the eventual web home of the organization. Then again, they still use the older @zii.aero email domain (which also is offline as a web property). It is a little thing, but not having the new branding ready when announcing the new branding is an interesting choice. Especially given a lack of obvious timing pressure to make the announcement.
They are keeping the signature red color, however. And presumably the long-running tradition of shoes to match at Aircraft Interiors Expo.
