How to deliver inflight entertainment for passengers across a diverse fleet, without breaking the bank? For Air India the answer comes in the form of “Vista,” a new streaming IFE solution powered by the Bluebox Blueview digital services platform, running on the Bluebox Wow wireless network.
At Air India, we are continuously striving to anticipate and meet the evolving needs of our modern travelers. We are pleased to introduce Vista, a new feature for our customers. It allows seamless integration of personal devices, enhancing the overall travel experience for our customers.

With Vista Air India promises a curated library, delivering nearly 1,000 hours of content across a range of formats. Passengers will have access to Bollywood blockbusters, Hollywood premieres, global music collections and captivating documentaries. The system also includes a moving map and content specially curated for children. The library is expected to be regularly updated.
The Bluebox Blueview platform also supports onboard retail, including secure payment processing. Third-party application integration is available, along with content management and analytics reporting for the airline.

The kit will initially be deployed on Air India’s legacy widebody fleet. Those planes have an embedded solution on board today. The companies intend to also deploy the solution on Air India’s single-aisle fleet. Air India’s deployment will not apply to the carrier’s most recently acquired A350 and 777 aircraft; those arrived with new, functional embedded entertainment systems that the carrier will continue to use.
Air India’s deployment follows a trial program launched by IndiGo earlier this summer with AirFi as the technology provider.
This is not the first time Air India considered a streaming entertainment solution for the long-haul fleet. Five years ago the company issued an RFP for a similar platform.
At that time the offering was to be fully funded by the supplier, with the potential to recover its investment via advertising revenue. Deployment did not happen at that time. Terms of this deal are not public.
