Copa Airlines is bringing streaming video content to its fleet thanks to a deal with Inflight Dublin. The latter’s Everhub wireless IFE solution will be deployed fleet-wide across the Panamanian carrier’s 737 fleet.
Partnering with Inflight Dublin to introduce the Everhub™ wireless IFE solution is a testament to our commitment to excellence. We are excited to offer our passengers this enhanced entertainment option, ensuring a more enjoyable and memorable journey. – Diana Mizrachi, Senior Director Customer Experience of Copa Airlines
Inflight Dublin’s selection came after an extended testing program and market analysis by Copa Airlines. The carrier was motivated by the ability to deliver its own ecosystem of services that passengers access directly through their personal devices. This ensures a personalized and convenient inflight infotainment experience, tailored to the needs and preferences of each passenger.
Copa Airlines will also be deploying the aircraft powered configuration of Everhub. While this requires a minor modification of the plane to power Everhub, it also enables a lighter-touch implementation as the hardware remains on board rather than coming out for charging. It also includes integration with several aircraft signals, allowing for playback pause during PA announcements, integration of fasten seatbelt messages, and a cellular connection to update content and software when on the ground.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Copa Airlines and bring our Everhub™ solution to its 737 fleet,” added Philip McCarthy, Commercial Director of Inflight Dublin. “This partnership underlines our commitment to delivering cutting-edge in-flight entertainment solutions that enhance the passenger experience. We look forward to working closely with Copa Airlines to provide their passengers with an unparalleled inflight experience.”
The rollout of the Everhub™ wireless IFE solution on Copa Airlines’ Boeing 737 fleet commenced in July with plans to install across the remainder of the carrier’s active fleet through 2025. The deal could also expand to future aircraft as Copa expands its fleet; the carrier has approximately 20 pending orders with Boeing. Inflight Dublin will provide comprehensive support and training throughout the installation to ensure optimal performance of the new system.
