Tigerair Taiwan will launch inflight entertainment on board for the first time, partnering with Bluebox to deliver the service. The streaming IFE offering is driven by Bluebox Wow, a portable, battery-powered system.
This partnership with Bluebox supports our goal of enhancing the onboard journey with a simple, accessible digital experience for our passengers. Launching inflight entertainment for the first time is an important step in evolving our service offering. – Bernard Hsu, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and Spokesman, Tigerair Taiwan
Initial offerings on the Blueview digital services platform include a mix of non-DRM and DRM-protected content covering regional favorites, Hollywood movies, and TV episodes, streamed to passengers’ personal devices. The companies plan to expand the offering to include order-to-seat for drinks, snacks, and other retail options on board.
Kevin Clark, CEO, Bluebox Aviation Systems added, “Tigerair Taiwan has built a strong reputation for driving ancillary performance, and we’re delighted to help amplify that success with the right digital tools and a flexible
infrastructure. Bluebox Wow and Blueview allow airlines to introduce a modern inflight entertainment experience quickly, while laying the foundations for future services such as onboard retail – without the complexity of traditional installations.”
The Bluebox-powered solution will deploy to all 17 of Tigerair Taiwan’s A320 aircraft, delivering a consistent passenger experience fleet-wide.
