Avianca will refresh its long-haul business class offering, bringing an updated travel experience to its 787-8 fleet. The updated INSIGNIA by Avianca offering includes a new seat for the carrier. plus changes to the inflight soft product as well as updates on the ground.

At the center of the new Insignia experience is a fresh install of the Collins Super Diamond seat. The seat offers a fully flat bed, plus sliding doors. Photos of the new cabin also show a slightly raised rim around the top of the seats to further increase the feeling of privacy on board.
Super Diamond is not a new seat, but there’s a reason it continues to see success in the market. It is a reliable product that delivers on passenger comfort and generally efficient use of space in the cabin.
Avianca will also install Panasonic Avionics‘ Astrova system on board, bringing the latest generation of in-seat inflight entertainment experience to the cabin.

This will be accompanied by noise-cancelling headphones from Meridian.
On the soft product side, Avianca will add several tweaks to the cabin service. Among them:
- New pajamas designed by Maaji
- A Mola Sasa amenity kit, created in collaboration with artisans from Chimichagua community featuring products from Loto del Sur
- A celebrity chef menu by Álvaro Clavijo and Rafael Buitrago, with Latin American flavors served on newly redesigned tableware
Updated ground services include a new premium check-in area at El Dorado Airport in Bogota, serving top-tier elites and Insignia passengers.
The first retrofit aircraft is expected to enter service “between January and February 2027,” which does not entirely make sense. But assume early next year to see the new cabin flying. Separately, the carrier says the hard product on the new A330s is not yet confirmed.
