Fiji Airways plans to add DFW to its route map. The carrier, which also recently announced plans to adopt the AAdvantage loyalty program, now plans to add connectivity to American’s largest hub.
In an application to the US Department of Transportation, Fiji Airways indicated it plans to fly its A350-900 thrice weekly on the route, “as soon as all required government approvals are received.” Planned flights would operate on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
Thanks to the international date line, flights could depart Fiji in the afternoon or evening, fly overnight, and arrive in Dallas-Fort Worth on the early afternoon of the same day. They would then return to Fiji that same night, arriving two mornings later.
Fiji Airways currently serves Los Angeles daily from its Nadi base. The carrier also flies to Honolulu and San Francisco, as well as Vancouver in Canada on a less-than-daily basis.
In addition to its tightening bond with American, Fiji Airways also intends to become a full member of OneWorld in 2025. The carrier previously signed on as the inaugural oneworld Connect member in 2018.
