The moving map is getting an infotainment upgrade, with FlightPath3D‘s introduction of Destination Stories. The update brings targeted, destination-specific content to the in-seat entertainment system.
Destination Stories is a seatback experience built for today’s traveler. Highly curated and engaging to spark ideas for now and what’s next. For airlines, it’s a new way to showcase destinations, vacations, and partners right where passengers are planning their journey.
– Duncan Jackson, President of FlightPath3D
Destination Stories extends the FP3D Destination Reels and Destination Guide concepts, bringing more content to the embedded IFE market, rather than just personal devices. Backed by Luci, FlightPath3D’s AI-powered travel companion, Destination Stories presents passengers with curated collections of video content, focused on local tips and highlights, integrated within the map.

And for passengers who don’t want to choose which specific bits to watch, there’s a “play all” option that allows them to sit back, while remaining engaged with the system.
The system also extends off the aircraft with an easy QR code link allowing travelers to take content with them off the aircraft to consume while at the destination. This helps extend the travel relationship with the airline, maintaining the trusted advisor role.

“Destination Stories is more than a new feature, it’s a new chapter for the inflight map,” adds Boris Veksler, Co-Founder and CEO of FlightPath3D. “Our mission has always been to guide every flying passenger. This is the next step in that journey, inspiring travelers in the air and connecting them to the places, experiences, and opportunities that await when they land.”
The platform also presents opportunities for airline-branded content and partnerships. This enables monetization and personalization opportunities for airlines, something FP3D has been working towards on its platform for several years now.
This iteration enables airlines to integrate content from destination marketing organizations and individual venues/organizations to boost the passenger experience. The company also continues to work towards enabling purchasing of tickets and tours directly in the map interface, further boosting monetization potential.
