Some Qatar Airways business class passengers have a new option for inflight entertainment. The carrier is operating a limited number of flights with virtual reality headsets from Inflight VR this month.
We are excited to have the opportunity of working with Qatar Airways. They have continued to put the customer first and remain a game changer in the aviation industry, proving time and again why they are masters of their craft.
– Moritz Engler, CEO of Inflight VR
The Inflight VR headsets offer an immersive virtual reality experience for passengers, with a range of content available. Movies are part of the value proposition but the opportunity to relax while exploring an aquarium or soaring among mountains is where the VR headsets truly show off their unique inflight entertainment value.
Qatar Airways passengers flying in business class or QSuites on the QR007 flight from Doha to London or the QR944 from Doha to Singapore can use the headsets complimentary as part of their flight.
The Qatar Airways implementation, like most, is a trial effort. The two parties expect it to run for a couple more weeks with the opportunity to extend or further evaluate the system for future expansion.
