Geven’s ESSENZA seats now flying on flyNAS A320neo

Fewer moving parts, significantly reduced weight and improved structural reliability. These are all key factors for airlines in selecting seats for their planes and Geven’s ESSENZA offering excels on all fronts. It is also now finally flying on board flyNAS’s first A320neo, delivered earlier this month.

The flyNAS deal covers 60 A320neo aircraft, with deliveries through 2026. The Saudi Arabian carrier chose to configure its A320neo cabins with 174 seats in a single-class layout. The company claims substantial and radical innovative solutions to deliver a “step forward in style, innovation, technology, robustness, in-service life, comfort and flexibility of modularity options.” The product reduces the number of component parts by 30% versus the Piuma EVO, Geven’s prior generation of ultra lightweight seats.

Bander Al-Mohanna, Flynas’ CEO, believes the selection of Geven as the seating supplier furthers the company’s “endless effort to constantly improve our service to passengers and enhance the confidence of our passengers that we are developing every day.” The A320neo aircraft will feature 174 seats and help to “further contribute to consolidating Flynas position as a leading airline in the Middle East region with a stylish, comfortable and modern air service,” according to Al-Mohanna.

The Essenza line launched at AIX 2015 in Hamburg with flyNAS signing on as the launch operator for the seats. SInce that time Wizz Air, Interjet and Lufthansa Group also signed on to install the product. LH Group’s first equipped planes are expected to fly with Essenza on board in early 2019. That product is described by GEVEN Managing Director Alberto Veneruso as “a fully customized product incorporating all the features based on Lufthansa Group’s specific needs and expectations.” Interjet deliveries will fly in mid-2019 and Wizz Air when that carrier’s massive 110 aircraft order begins to fly.
