Galileo, Gogo‘s LEO-satellite based solution, hit another major milestone this week with an STC issued for its FDX terminal. The larger antenna, manufactured by Hughes, offers full duplex connection to the Eutelsat OneWeb constellation, and is designed to fly on larger business jets.
This first FDX STC marks another major milestone as we strive to deliver multi-orbit, multi-band connectivity for all types of aircraft.
– Chris Moore, CEO, Gogo
The STC was developed and delivered by ALOFT AeroArchitects covering the Boeing BBJ product line including the BBJ1, BBJ2, and BBJ MAX models. The first Gogo Galileo FDX installation under this STC was performed on a BBJ 737-700IGW that previously flew without connectivity.
Gogo says the FDX terminal delivers performance up to 195Mbps download and 32Mbps upload speeds throughout the cabin, a significant boost over the HDX model.
The companies expect certification from EASA later in 2025.
Also of interest, the Airbus ACJ family of business jets has a HDX option available today but no commitment for a FDX offering, per Gogo’s STC progress listing.
