Viasat confirms Delta fleet growth

More Delta planes are now confirmed to be receiving the Viasat inflight Wi-Fi hardware over the next 20ish months.

Viasat will install its inflight internet solution across more than 1,000 planes for Delta Air Lines as part of an updated agreement between the two companies. The deal includes all active aircraft in its Airbus A330, Airbus A350, and Boeing 767 fleets.

Viasat, Inmarsat receive provisional merger approval from UK

Should the Viasat/Inmarsat merger eventually close, the company may need to send a thank you present to the Starlink team at SpaceX. After four months of additional review, the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) issued a provisional approval to the combination, and the upstart LEO operator is cited as a major factor in the determination.

Delta confirms fleet-wide commitment to Viasat inflight internet

Alaska Airlines picks Intelsat for E175 streaming WiFi upgrade

Alaska Airlines will offer “streaming fast” Wi-Fi on its E175 fleet, beginning in 2024. The carrier plans to upgrade those aircraft, extending its longstanding partnership with Intelsat.

Stellar Blu, Satcom Direct partner for BizAv LEO services

Business aviation solutions provider Satcom Direct will serve as the preferred provider for Stellar Blu’s Sidewinder antenna systems as the companies roll out the next generation of inflight connectivity for business jets. Last week Panasonic Avionics finally confirmed low earth orbit constellations are officially part of its product road map, in partnership with OneWeb. This week at the APEX EXPO conference in Long Beach, California the company is offering up additional details on how the new capacity will fit into its offerings, and how it expects planes will be connected to the new satellites.

Panasonic Avionics, OneWeb team for inflight internet service

Panasonic Avionics is the latest commercial aviation provider to sign a distribution agreement for OneWeb's LEO satellite capacity

Panasonic Avionics (PAC) will add low earth orbit satellites to its inflight internet offerings, thanks to a partnership with OneWeb. The long-expected distribution agreement will enable PAC to market, sell, and support OneWeb’s high-speed, low-latency LEO in-flight broadband services to commercial airlines worldwide.
