
For the past decade multiple ESA manufacturers have worked to convert the “it is just physics” theory of electronically steered phased array antenna solutions into a viable business model. This week Phasor earns the unfortunate honor of failing at that goal for a second time.
Space Intel Report cites an internal memo in its coverage of the situation, suggesting the antenna division is shutting down. A company spokesperson declined to comment to PaxEx.Aero.
Assuming it proves accurate – and there is no reason to believe otherwise – this will be the second time Phasor’s antenna technology has died on the path to commercialization.

Not that others won’t be able to fill in the gap left by Hanwha Phasor. But significant time and money was invested over the past decade, with little to show for the effort. That certainly stings a bit.
