JetBlue is bringing Peacock’s streaming content on board. Starting in Spring 2023 the two companies will collaborate to increase content available for passengers across the carrier’s network.
We’re excited to partner with Peacock, another fun, witty brand born in NYC to help raise the bar on what inflight entertainment can look like and bring in new ways of delighting our customers in the air and on the ground.
– Jayne O’Brien, head of marketing and loyalty, JetBlue
Like similar content partnerships with other airlines, JetBlue and Peacock will offer a selection of content via the embedded inflight entertainment system on board. Thanks to JetBlue’s complimentary Fly-Fi inflight internet service, however, the relationship can stretch a bit further. Travelers will also be able to stream the pull selection of Peacock offerings on their own personal devices.
Unclear, however, is whether that streaming will require a paid account (yes, there will be some promotional offerings, including complimentary memberships for Mosaic members of the TrueBlue program) or if passengers will have unfettered access by virtue of being on board. The latter would represent true innovation in the streaming content service partnership world. Previously JetBlue offered a streaming partnership with Showtime, and with Amazon prior to that.
