Flying Colours Corp. the international maintenance, repair, overhaul, and completions company, signed an agreement with North Carolina-based SmartSky Networks to act as a sales and installation facility for SmartSky‘s air-to-ground connectivity equipment.
Adding the SmartSky equipment to our roster brings yet another dimension to our offering as it expands the choice for those seeking an unparalleled connectivity experience that supports both the cabin, and the aircraft, in North America.
– Kevin Kliethermes, director of sales, Flying Colours Corp.
Sales and installation of the SmartSky solution will be handled from Flying Colours’ Peterborough, ON. and St. Louis, MO. locations. The two companies see continued strength in the business aviation market and a growing demand for high-quality, high-speed connectivity on aircraft in the segment.
Kevin Kliethermes, director of sales for Flying Colours notes, “Every time we talk to a customer about refurbishment, or completions, we have the connectivity conversation. We already have extensive experience upgrading and installing connectivity equipment, and regularly advise on the most suitable options for a customer’s mission profile.” The SmartSky solution will now be part of that conversation.

That the company is installing the hardware in its Peterborough, ON location also speaks to the volume of private jet traffic that crosses the border on a regular basis. And raises questions as to whether SmartSky will pursue access to the Canadian market once the US operation is fully active and stable.
The on-board hardware consists of two small antennae and an aircraft base radio. Flying Colours will offer the complete shipset and already has equipment in inventory for installation across several aircraft types where STCs are available.
