Airlines looking for a bit of help with Starlink installations now have a new option in Châteauroux, France. Vallair operates an MRO facility at the airport and it has a bit of spare capacity available. It partnered with AeroX to apply that to equipping aircraft with inflight internet service.
We are honored to contribute to this digital revolution in commercial aviation and to support the rapid deployment of this outstanding connectivity system for the benefit of AeroX’s customers.
– Grégoire Lebigot, CEO & Founder of Vallair
AeroX is a certified Starlink distributor for the business aviation market. The company is familiar with the hardware and the installation process to get it on to aircraft.
It now plans to leverage that experience in the commercial aviation sector, offering install services for both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft across Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
Vallair will allocate night-shift space at its MRO facility at Châteauroux for the work. Because of the quick install pacing for the Starlink hardware the companies anticipate performing the work in a single shift, supporting minimal downtime for the aircraft, even with the ferry flight to and from the facility.
A spokesperson confirms the pair have “airlines lined up for this service.” They are, however, unwilling to disclose further details at this time.
Vallair will also offer full base maintenance services for aircraft operators looking to perform additional checks or maintenance in conjunction with the Starlink installation.
Given the steady flow of new Starlink orders, including multiple airlines across Europe and the Middle East, there would seem to be plenty of opportunity for that work to be performed.
