Passengers on AirAsiaX will soon see an updated option for ordering food to to their seat on board. Inflight Dublin partnered with Soft Space Fasspos to deliver an integrated entertainment and retail solution on board, with the Malaysia-based carrier as its launch partner.
This collaboration closes the last-mile gap in collecting payments in-flight. Linking with Soft Space’s Fasspos allows us to maintain one single platform that has connections to many acquirers in different regions. This reduces the technology effort for us and will enhance our go to market strategy.
– John White, Chief Executive Officer of Inflight Dublin
By integrating Fasspos into the Everhub platform the companies expect to streamline the purchasing process for passengers. This leads to faster and smoother checkout rates, which enhances the overall passenger experience.
The partnership highlights the flexibility and extensibility of Inflight Dublin’s Everhub ecosystem, comprised of portable on-board servers and the associated software. Everhub allows airlines to mix-and-match solutions from Inflight Dublin and third party providers to deliver an inflight experience customized and optimized for their passenger needs.
Speaking to the deal, Soft Space CEO Joel Tay noted, “We believe that the travel segment is a vital part of cross-border payments and ecosystem building and we are committed to building a full-stack payment solution suited for airlines. This will help airlines grow their ancillary revenue and leverage their ecosystem to offer loyalty and financial services. The partnership with Inflight Dublin and pilot program with AirAsia is a key milestone in this goal.”
Specifically for AirAsia, the deal allows a single purchasing interface on board across all the digital offerings, integrating payments from the Rokki system into the Everhub/Fasspos ecosystem.
The deal was announced at Aircraft Interiors Expo 2024 in Hamburg last week, and is an extension of the cooperation announced between IFD and Soft Space last November.
