KLM’s first 777 with its new World Business Class seat has returned to service. The seat offers increased privacy, direct aisle access for all travelers, and other improvements to the overall passenger experience.
Based on extensive customer and competitor research, we improved our World Business Class seats to ensure that customers have more privacy and comfort during their flight. The new seats are better in terms of design, technology and sustainability features.

KLM selected an updated version of the Jamco Venture seat for its 777 refresh, extending its partnership with the supplier. A similar offering flies on the carrier’s 787 fleet as well. KLM notes that the 777 version is lighter, helping to reduce emissions without compromising comfort.
The seat also features a “door” to increase privacy, though it is more of a soft divider than a solid separator of the passenger from the aisle.
The seat offers up other standard business class features, including a flat bed. True to KLM form, it is longer than most at 198cm. Myriad charging options, including wireless, USB-A, and USB-C are on offer as well.

Recline, massage, and other seat controls are managed through an integrated panel on the armrest. The lack of tactile markings in this design presents some usability and accessibility challenges.
KLM anticipates the full fleet refresh – also including the installation of the carrier’s premium economy seats – to complete in the year ahead.
