After two years of planning and construction WestJet‘s flagship lounge is set to open at Calgary International Airport. The Elevation Lounge offers a more than 9,300 square feet of space with panoramic views and Canadian-inspired details. The space was designed in collaboration with global architecture and design firm Gensler to carefully consider the needs and safety of guests and frequent travelers.
The opening of the WestJet Elevation Lounge is a pivotal moment for our business and demonstrates our commitment to delivering world-class experiences both on the ground and in the air. It was only fitting to open this flagship space within our home hub in Calgary. The lounge will provide our top-tier WestJet Rewards members and business cabin travellers with a safe and comfortable place to rest, rejuvenate and work when visiting YYC. –
Arved von zur Muehlen, WestJet Chief Commercial Officer

The lounge includes features expected by business travelers, including different areas for work, relaxation, or a private shower suite. WestJet’s VP Loyalty Programs d’Arcy Monaghan notes that the company worked with its most frequent travelers on the design such that the final product “focuses on the needs and expectations of frequent flyers and premium travelers.” The WestJet Elevation Lounge also offers a kids’ area for younger travelers.

The offerings inside include freshly prepared foods highlighting local and seasonal ingredients. Passengers will be able to order from their mobile devices, a nod to the evolving standards of hygiene in lounge meals. Signature beverages designed and delivered by dedicated bartenders are on offer, as are a premium selection of wine plus beer options from Calgary’s own breweries, including WestJet’s Elevation beer on tap by The Dandy Brewing Company, and an XPA by Annex Ale Project.
Access to the lounge is provided for passengers traveling in WestJet’s Business Class cabin on the 787, including connecting flight. Elite members in the WestJet Rewards program can also access the lounge, though Silver members are limited in the number of complimentary visits.

Airport lounge membership programs such as Priority Pass, LoungeKey, LOUNGE CLUB and Diners Club can access the space per the terms of their membership. And the airline will also sell access at the door. Travelers on WestJet will pay CAD$59+GST. If flying on another airline the price goes up CAD$6. Access is only granted three hours prior to departure; on a longer layover passengers will need to wait in the terminal per the rules.

Working in partnership with The Calgary Airport Authority, the Elevation Lounge will open to the public on November 2, 2020 and is conveniently located at Concourse B of the Domestic Terminal and is accessible to guests departing from Concourses A, B and C, as well as Concourse D of the International Terminal (when accessed from security checkpoint B or C). It is not accessible for transborder passengers departing to the United States.
