The British Airways lounge in Seattle is open once again, following an extensive refurbishment. The lounge features a new full-service bar, a re-designed buffet, and dedicated a la carte dining for first class passengers. It also offers 180-degree views of the runway and mountains beyond.
Just like our customers and colleagues, each lounge is unique. Customers can expect to see nods to our British heritage blended seamlessly with features that celebrate the locality of the destination. We’ve worked with local designers, artists, and suppliers across the globe to ensure that each lounge has its own British Original personality – and we can’t wait to unveil more. – Calum Laming, British Airways’ Chief Customer Officer

The refreshed lounge features a buffet area offering a range of hot and cold items. A full-service bar was also installed, acting as the centerpiece of the lounge. Local artists such as Hannah Mason were tapped for the artwork.

It will be interesting to see what usage of the new lounge is given the presence of a oneworld partner – Alaska Airlines – at the airport. While the location in the South Satellite is not conveniently located for departures, access rules should make it more available for elite members in the MileagePlan program than the Alaska lounges.

British Airways plans to open a new lounge at Dubai Airport later this year, including the airline’s new design concept components like Concorde Dining, showers and a full-service bar. The carrier also plans to open a new lounge in Miami later this year, in a brand-new space above the departure gates. Lounge refreshes in Boston and Glasgow are also slated to start later this year.
