Less than a year after Embraer announced development of the Praetor 500 and Praetor 600 at the 2018 NBAA-BACE conference the planes are flying with triple certification from Brazilian, US and European authorities. And now the types have a fleet launch customer.
Flexjet will purchase the Praetor 500, Praetor 600 and Phenom 300 for its fractional ownership operations, with deliveries to start before the end of the year. The deal covers 64 aircraft at a list price of $1.4bn, though the true price will be significantly less than that owing to industry discount norms.
We are very grateful for Flexjet’s renewed commitment to Embraer through this new agreement, which reflects the growth and the strength of our partnership over the past 16 years and symbolizes our ongoing support for their journey ahead. Flexjet Owners will appreciate and enjoy a truly elevated customer experience in industry-leading aircraft, including the recently certified Praetor jets, which are different by design and disruptive by choice.
– Michael Amalfitano, President & CEO, Embraer Executive Jets
Flexjet’s move to be the first fractional fleet operator of the Praetor 500/600 follows its similar position with the Legacy Executive Jet, Legacy 500 and Phenom 300.
We are proud to introduce the Praetor jets to the fractional marketplace and make technologically advanced midsize and super-midsize aircraft available to Flexjet Owners. This order also represents the longstanding trust we have in Embraer and in their enhanced commitment to support the growth of our programs and of our partnership with industry-leading business jets.
– Michael Silvestro, Flexjet CEO

The Praetor 500/600 jets represent the next generation of midsize and super-midsize aircraft for the business aviation market with increased range and improved comfort on board. They also are available with Ka-band inflight wifi from Viasat, offering a high-speed connectivity solution installed from the factory line or Gogo’s AVANCE L5 air-to-ground offering..
Separately, Gogo announced today at NBAA that the Phenom 300 line is now certified for installation of its AVANCE L5 air-to-ground wifi solution.
