Airshare will update its Phenom 300 fleet with the Gogo Galileo LEO inflight internet service
Gogo will add another fleet of Embraer Phenom 300s to its Galileo LEO fleet, thanks to a deal signed with Airshare. The aircraft management and fractional ownership group will equip the planes with the Galileo HDX solution, optimized for the aircraft size.
The companies note the decision came following a test flight operating in real-world conditions. The one hour test included 23 devices connected across eight passengers and two crew members and more than 16GB of data transferred. Gogo Galileo is powered by the Eutelsat Oneweb LEO constellation.
Passengers expect to board, connect, and stay fully productive and entertained simultaneously. Gogo Galileo brings that same experience to every segment of business aviation and Airshare’s Phenom 300 fleet is a great example of what that looks like in practice.
– Michael Skou Christensen, CCO of Gogo
The new customer announcement followed the company’s Q1 earnings report, another in a series of quarters where the future is promised to be bright, but also where the current numbers show a shrinking installation footprint for the company’s business aviation inflight connectivity solutions.
