
For the past few years John Wade has been relatively outspoken about his belief that the inflight connectivity market will shift dramatically in how services are delivered to aircraft, namely trading GEO satellite capacity for LEO. On the heels of this week’s announcement about Panasonic Avionics‘ new antenna deal with Intellian, Wade reiterated many of those opinions in a conversation with PaxEx.aero, while also delivering some additional insights on why this terminal in particular makes sense for the commercial aviation market.
All of us IFC experts, if you’d have suggested three or four years ago putting multiple antennae on an airplane for IFC, we’d have told you, no, nobody’s gonna do that. But now, yes, everybody’s talking about doing that. The established position of our industry shifted. And we helped drive that.
