Expect an ESA atop these planes soon, as fractional ownership company PlaneSense is equipping its entire fleet of Pilatus PC-12s and PC-24s with Gogo Galileo (image via Gogo/PlaneSense)
Longtime Gogo customer PlaneSense is extending its relationship with the inflight connectivity supplier, with plans to equip its current and future fleet of Pilatus PC-12 turboprops and PC-24 jets with Gogo Galileo satellite Wi-Fi.
With Gogo Galileo, we are bringing reliable, high-performance bandwidth to our entire fleet. Our clients will be able to stay connected consistently from takeoff to landing, making their time onboard more productive and enjoyable.
The deal calls for 71 current PlaneSense aircraft to be fitted with the low Earth orbit satellite connectivity solution. Future aircraft will also have the kit active upon delivery, thanks to a factory installation program at Pilatus.
PlaneSense expects the first PC-24 fitted with Gogo’s HDX antenna (manufactured by Hughes) to arrive from the factory this month, with retrofits starting at the same time. Installation on the PC-12 fleet will begin in November 2026. The transition to satellite-based connectivity is expected to complete by the end of 2027.
Gogo has historically touted AVANCE as a platform that can support both satellite and terrestrial connectivity solutions, routing data seamlessly via the most efficient network. There is, however, no indication that the PlaneSense fleet will maintain the air-to-ground service as the satellite terminals are installed.
Gogo Galileo is powered by the Eutelsat OneWeb LEO network, which delivers reliable high-speed, low-latency broadband globally. The HDX electronically steered antenna (ESA) offers a compact, lightweight, aerodynamic, and low-power solution, well-sized for the smaller fuselage of the Pilatus fleet.
