Cathay Pacific is getting in on the vaccination prizes game in a big way. Among other things, Hong Kongers can win access to one of the company’s planes for a joy ride with friends.
The carrier calls this grand prize “Plane for a Day,” though the reality is rather less than that.
The grand prize winner in the draw will get a 90 minute joy ride around Hong Kong on one of the company’s newest A321neo aircraft. The plane seats 202, 12 in business class and 190 in economy, so that’s a lot of friends to bring along for the fun.
The aircraft have not yet entered service for passengers, though they will by the time the winner is picked.
Another 10 winners will collect one million Asia Miles points each. One hundred winners will receive 100,000 points each.
Based on Hong Kong government statistics just under 1.9 million residents (25%) are fully vaccinated. The contest page includes a link to schedule shots so more are likely to be qualified for the draw, but the odds are not terrible.
