JetBlue will make its TrueBlue Mosaic elite status more rewarding in 2022. Upgrades are coming for members, including an option for highly coveted Mint upgrades as part of a newly established Mosaic+ tier of the program.
With new perks on the way in the new year we’re making sure our Mosaic program always offers our most loyal customers something new to look forward to.

A new Mosaic+ tier
For JetBlue’s biggest spenders the new Mosaic+ tier means better upgrades and other benefits. To qualify for Mosaic+, customers must earn 45,000 Mosaic Qualifying Points ($15k in airfare spend on non-Basic fares) or spend $150,000 on either the JetBlue Plus Card or JetBlue Business Card. Both qualifying options are triple the regular Mosaic tier level.
Once qualified Mosaic+ members earn four one-way Mint upgrades. Upgrades will clear at 24 hours prior to departure and can be used with one companion on the same reservation. Bookings must be created at least 96 hours prior to departure to be eligible for an upgrade. London service (and presumably any other transatlantic markets added in 2022) is not eligible for the upgrades.
Mosaic+ members will also receive a FoundersCard Elite membership.
Of note in the fine print, credit card-based qualifying for Mosaic+ only applies for the remainder of 2022. And it is not credited until 4-6 weeks after hitting the spend minimums. With a policy that “Mosaic+ benefits are only available in 2022” the credit card earning approach will likely leave most with a very narrow window of redemption opportunity.
More Mosaic benefits, too
The regular Mosaic tier will also see upgrades added to the benefits, though not for Mint seats.
Mosaic members can purchase an Even More Space seat with points and receive a 200 point rebate after travel. The carrier also guarantees that the cost of the upgrade will not exceed 200 points. This makes the upgrades free, so long as you can float a few points for the transaction.
Mosaic members will also receive FoundersCard membership, though at the regular tier, not Elite.
Finally, Mosaic members can receive a complimentary upgrade on Heathrow Express by presenting their same-day boarding pass showing the status.
The caveats
Given that one of the largest prior benefits – no change fees – was diluted when the carrier extended that benefit to all passengers, JetBlue needed to come up with something significant to make Mosaic status more compelling. Free Even More Space seating at time of booking is a solid benefit. I lobbied hard for that when the program first launched and partially got it. This version, however, is a much better implementation for members and for the company.
But it is, at least for now, only a 2022 benefit. Indeed, all of the new benefits are only for 2022.
The FoundersCard membership is a trial subscription that requires entering a valid credit card number. Presumably it will auto-renew and charge Mosaic members when the first year runs out.
The Mint upgrades for Mosaic+ must be redeemed for travel on or before 31 December 2022.
It can be hard to generate long-term loyalty with customers if the program rules change frequently or benefits expire on a regular basis. But at least some of the benefits can be realized quickly by members.
