It is bold. It is bright. And the new JetBlue/Dunkin’ crossover livery is more than just a painted plane, at least for a few months. The companies are also using the aircraft as a key component in a loyalty push this summer.
Both JetBlue and Dunkin’ offer loyalty programs. Both of those programs offer elite status benefits for top customers. This summer passengers flying on the Dunkin plane on Mondays will receive boosted benefits in both programs as part of the deal.
For TrueBlue members flying on a Monday comes with Mosaic Status. Those who do not hold status will get the benefits for three months. Those who do have status will receive a credit of 20 tiles, 40% of the requirement to requalify or reach the next tier level.
Dunkin’ Rewards members will similarly receive a three month upgrade to the company’s Boosted status level. Those who already hold that tier will receive double points earning for the three month promo window.
The main catch, of course, is that the plane will operate throughout the JetBlue network, meaning catching it on a Monday is no sure thing. The carrier does publish the planned routes on Friday afternoon for the following Monday for those hoping to game the effort.
This week the plane is on the east coast, though that’s no guarantee going forward.
Eligible Dunkin’® plane flights on Monday 5/19:
- PBI – EWR dep. 7:00 am (B6 444)
- EWR – PBI dep. 10:48 am (B6 343)
- PBI – DCA dep. 3:30 pm (B6 24)
- DCA – MCO dep. 6:55 pm (B6 2523)
Another limitation is that travelers can only collect the bonus once, regardless of how many qualifying flights they take.
The promotion runs through 1 September, with the aircraft expected to be out of service for maintenance on 30 June and 7 July.
