Recaro will provide the economy class seats for Lufthansa’s new “Allegris” cabin refresh program. The company announced it secured the order for nearly 24,000 CL3710 and CL3810 seats to equip just under 100 Lufthansa and Swiss planes. The first seats will be delivered in Q4 2022.
Our aligned goals for sustainable, comfortable seating solutions has garnered great success for both Recaro and Lufthansa, and I am confident that our CL3710 and CL3810 seats will carry on this tradition of excellence.
– Dr. Mark Hiller, CEO at Recaro Aircraft Seating and Recaro Holding
Recaro’s CL3810 economy class seat will be retrofitted on both SWISS A330-300 and Lufthansa B747-8 aircraft. The updated seat offers increased personal space for passengers. It also comes with an updated cushion featuring layered foam and innovative ergonomic technology.

The seat weighs in at 15% lighter than its predecessor, saving fuel and helping to reduce emissions.
The CL3710 seat will fly on Lufthansa’s 777-9 fleet, whenever those are certified and delivered. The CL3710 will also fly on the 787-9, and A350-900.
Per Lufthansa’s prior release on the updated cabins, the first few rows of economy will offer extra legroom. Passengers will also have an option to pay for the middle seat to be blocked. Lufthansa shows this with a tray table installed, similar to EuroBiz offerings. And, of course, there are the regular economy seats.

Lufthansa is also introducing “Sleeper’s Row 2.0” on all new long-haul aircraft, as part of Allegris. This builds on the offering launched in 2020 and expanded last year. The new version will offer a flip-up extension of the seat, akin to the Air New Zealand SkyCouch.
