First photos emerge as United’s CRJ550 nears service entry

The first CRJ550 for United Airlines is out of the shop and beginning the process for service introduction. With its return come the first photos of the new 50-seat, premium-heavy interior for the aircraft.

Bombardier to restructure aviation, sell off Belfast composite wing facility

First Bombardier sold off the CSeries (now A220) to Airbus. Then the Q400 turboprop business was sold to Viking Air. Today the company announced further restructuring, with plans to consolidate remaining operations in the Americas while divesting its composite aerostructures businesses in Belfast and Morocco.

Behold the outcome of a battle between pilot scope clause and a shrinking pool of commercial airline pilots United Airlines and Bombardier announced the launch of the CRJ550 this morning. It is a CRJ700 frame, reconfigured to a maximum of 50 seats.
