United Airlines‘ inflight internet upgrade is moving on to the mainline fleet. The carrier announced receipt of STC approval for the first installation on a 737-800 aircraft.
United expects the equipped aircraft to enter service on 15 October 2025.
As with other mainline aircraft Starlink deployments United chose a double-antenna implementation for its 737s.
United began Starlink installations with its Embraer E175 regional jet fleet earlier this year. It has since completed installs on more than half of the RJ fleet. Approximately 50 aircraft per month are being installed across multiple conversion lines.
In total the carrier will secure 16 different STCs for installation on its different aircraft types.
Progress on United’s mainline Starlink installations was previously reported for PaxEx Premium subscribers.
