Want to fly Delta’s A330neo? The first (currently) scheduled opportunity will be the July 1 departure from Seattle to Shanghai, China. The carrier will also add the A330neo on services from Seattle to Seoul-Incheon (1 August) and Tokyo-Narita (31 August) this Summer. Of particular interest is that Delta avoided mentioning the specific aircraft type in the release until nearly the bottom.
The new A330neo cabin features 291 total seats split across Delta’s four branding pillars. The cabin layout breaks down as:
- Delta One: 29 “suites” seats with a door for privacy, a fully flat bed and direct aisle access
- Premium Select: 28 premium economy seats with up to 38″ pitch and 18.5″ width, adjustable head/leg rests and an amenity kit
- Comfort+: 56 seats with pitch up to 34″ pitch and 5″ of recline
- Main Cabin: 168 seats with up to 33″ pitch and 4″ of recline

All seats will have in-seat entertainment systems developed by the Delta Flight Products group. This is the hybrid wireless/embedded system that DFP developed in-house, building on the system Delta worked with Gogo to develop for the A220 fleet. That system premiered in early February and mostly delivers on its promises.
The aircraft will also have Gogo‘s 2Ku inflight wifi connectivity solution and offer all passengers complimentary messaging via iMessage, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger on all flights. Passengers will be able to charge their devices via USB ports and 110V outlets.
The new cabin layout was first tipped in the company’s filing for access to additional slots at Tokyo-Haneda. Delta indicated in that filing that it would use the A330neo on its Seattle flight to Haneda; that service would replace the Narita flight if Delta receives the slots requested.
Decent odds remain that Delta will find other opportunities to fly passengers on its new A330neo fleet before this 1 July 2018 service so no guarantees that it will be the typical first flight celebration. But it is the first date the carrier has disclosed thus far.
