Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss will update its A350 interiors, bringing a host of passenger-focused upgrades to the fleet. Among the new-to-Edelweiss options are a premium economy cabin and free inflight wi-fi for all travelers.
With the new Airbus A350, we seized the opportunity to rethink our entire cabin product and develop it consistently with our guests’ well-being in mind… The new cabin is a logical evolution of our design and represents modern comfort, Swiss quality, and a contemporary long-haul holiday flight experience. – Bernd Bauer, CEO of Edelweiss
More Options in Business Class
The business class cabin will shift to direct aisle access for all travelers, with eight rows of a 1-2-1 layout rather than the current 2-2-2. This will be accomplished with the installation of the Thompson Aero Vantage XL+ line of seats, specifically tweaked for the A350 cabin.

Edelweiss will also add the Vantage XL+ front row Business Suite option. It adds privacy doors, a larger (32″) IFE screen, and open ottoman foot space. The Business Suite will also feature a memory foam pillow and mattress topper for increased comfort.

The new seats appear to provide increased capacity – 32 seats rather than 30 – in the same area on the aircraft.
Premium Economy Joins the Edelweiss A350 Fleet
The Premium Economy cabin will feature four rows in a 2-3-2 layout, bringing 28 more spacious seats to the middle of the plane. These are hard shell seats, similar to those used on other Lufthansa Group airlines.

The economy class cabin will also be refreshed, removing the hints of red trim while promising an extra inch of legroom and “greater seat tilt angle” for passenger comfort.

Major IFE/C Update
The aircraft will also receive a nose-to-tail update of the inflight entertainment system, and the addition of inflight internet service.
Every screen will see new 4K monitors installed with Bluetooth pairing. Personal device charging will be delivered via 60W USB-A and USB-C port at every seat.
Premium economy and business class will also have wireless charging and noise-cancelling headphones on offer. Business class also gets AC power outlets.
Inflight Wi-Fi will be free to passengers, delivered though the Starlink satellite service as announced last week under the umbrella of the larger Lufthansa Group deal.
Update Timing
The first aircraft with the new layout will join the fleet in December 2026. Additional updated aircraft will join the fleet in January, February, April, May, and July 2027. By mid-Summer 2027 the full Edelweiss A350 fleet will be operating with the new cabins.
Initial ticket sales will launch in Summer 2026.
