Long-haul service on LATAM is refocusing on a better sleep experience as the company introduces a new Premium Business service concept and updated cabin configuration. Flat beds with direct aisle access replace a much more cramped layout on the carrier’s 777-300ER fleet while a new culinary concept and cabin crew protocols aim to provide more comfort and privacy to passengers on board.
Putting new seats on board, with improved pillows and bedding, makes for a much more comfortable inflight experience. Individual travelers and couples have an opportunity for the right level of privacy in the Thompson Aero Vantage XL seats and will be entertained throughout the flight thanks to an updated version of the Panasonic Avionics inflight entertainment system on board.

While the new hard product promises a more comfortable bed for passengers to get a good night’s sleep, the soft product updates are also a compelling shift. Updated menus are important and LATAM will continue to feature South American cuisine prepared with local ingredients and paired with regional wines. Adjustments to the crew protocols, however, are an area where an improved sleep experience is likely to emerge. In short, the service schedule is expected to be completed more quickly and with fewer interruptions. Passengers who want to sleep will have more time to do so and can expect that the cabin experience will be quieter, supporting that sleep.
And, while passengers will have to get lucky to find one of the retrofit 777-300ERs flying to score the new beds and associated bedding, the new meal service is coming to all international flights beginning this month. The carrier also intends to retrofit its 767s over time, while the new delivery 787-9 and A350-1000 aircraft will arrive with the new cabin layout.
Business class passengers will benefit the most from the updates, but the carrier didn’t forget about economy class. That cabin also received an update, with a revamped look and updated IFE experience.
The first of ten retrofit aircraft rolled out this week with the remainder of the fleet planned for updates in the coming months.
