A rendering of the new SpaceJet, formerly known as the MRJ

The new name – it is now officially the SpaceJet M90 – does not really matter for the future of the MRJ. But a new interior and revised scope-compliant model might just be enough to win over customers for the manufacturer.

Mitsubishi looks to Canada for its MRJ program

5 June 2019 By Seth Miller 4 Comments

If you can’t join them, buy them. Mitsubishi appears poised to do just that as Bombardier seeks to offload its CRJ regional jet product line. At least it would solve the scope clause issues.

This story is about: Bombardier, Canadair, CRJ, CRJ700, CRJ900, E175, E175-E2, E195-E2, EJets, Embraer, MItsubishi, MJR90, MRJ, MRJ70 Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports, Seats & Cabin

Can Space Jet save the MRJ??

4 June 2019 By Seth Miller 4 Comments

Can a rebranding and redesign of the Mitsubishi Regional Jet to “Space Jet” restore the type’s fortunes? The market could use a competitor to shake up Embraer’s monopoly, but uncertainty and further delays are not going to help the MRJ break into the market.

This story is about: Bombardier, CRJ, CRJ700, CRJ900, E175, E175-E2, E190, E195, E195-E2, EJets, Embraer, MItsubishi, MRJ, regional jet, Space Jet Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports

Best of Farnborough 2018: Embraer’s big win

23 July 2018 By Seth Miller Leave a Comment

Bigger is not always better. In the case of orders at Farnborough 2018 smaller airlines and orders are more likely to upset the industry (in a mostly good way). Embraer is party to one such order, with huge potential, even if it is not for 200 aircraft.

This story is about: business class, E195-E2, EJets, Embraer, Farnborough, FIA18, Kuwait, premium cabin, PriestmanGoode, regional jet, seating, Wataniya Airways Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports, Seats & Cabin

Aircraft delivery schedule for JetBlue over the coming years.

JetBlue’s move to dump the Embraer E190 fleet in favor of the Bombardier CSeries newly branded Airbus A220 comes as a surprise only in terms of timing. And as JetBlue’s fleet evolves to include the CSeries A220 (and A321neo) a number of questions arise over the carrier’s growth plans.

This story is about: A220, A320neo, A321neo, Airbus, Airspace, E190, EJets, Embraer, JetBlue, transcon Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports, Seats & Cabin

The new partnership will be 80% owned […]
