It is finally, finally, finally official. JetBlue will fly to London (and likely other European cities) from its hubs at Boston and New York City starting in 2021.

JetBlue seeks operational improvements at Boston
New routes and frequencies are important, but high value travelers want reliable service, too. JetBlue’s changes at Boston announced this week include more flights, but also significant operational changed to help get more of those flights in and out on time.
JetBlue goes hourly(ish) from Boston to New York, Washington
Shuttle flights means hourly service and JetBlue is upping its game. The carrier will soon offer near-hourly flights from its Boston focus city to both Washington, DC and New York City.
American Airlines brings premium transcon service to Boston
American Airlines’s premium transcon service will soon fly to Boston. The carrier is adding two daily trips between Los Angeles and Boston Logan on the A321T aircraft, making it the only airline to offer first class and business class on the route. The new service starts on 2 April 2019 with seats on sale beginning 3 December 2019.
Delta’s first A220 flights now on sale
The first Delta Air Lines A220 flights are now loaded into the schedule and on sale for travelers. The carrier intends to base the fleet initially at New York City’s LaGuardia Airport and serve routes focused on business travelers, with Boston and Dallas-Fort Worth the first two destinations starting 31 January 2019. Over the summer of 2019 as the fleet grows the A220 will also serve Houston, Salt Lake City, Detroit, Minneapolis-St. Paul and JFK.
JetBlue confirms 2019 route changes
Building on yesterday’s report that JetBlue plans “aggressive” changes to its route network details the changes are now public. One new international destination joins the route map and several routes see increased frequencies. The carrier will also close three stations and shift one to seasonal service. A handful of routes will also be shuttered. This round of changes will begin to show in JetBlue’s schedule effective in January 2019.

While transatlantic operations are not to be had in 2019 the current route network should see “aggressive” redeployment of aircraft. At risk of change are several destinations in the Midwest, as well as some smaller markets on the East Coast.

Hawaiian to Boston: New longest domestic flight
Hawaiian will soon operate a new longest domestic US flight. The carrier will launch service 5x weekly between Honolulu and Boston starting on 4 April 2019. The 5,095 mile flight is the longest domestic US route, besting the Honolulu-JFK service by just over 100 miles.
