PaxEx Premium: Spirit’s wifi installs begin

Work on the first Spirit Airlines aircraft to receive its Thales-supplied inflight wifi connectivity hardware is underway. Installation efforts started this week at an MRO with Thales overseeing the work.

Eutelsat goes big on Ka-band, dumps ViaSat-3

Major drama in the inflght connectivity world this afternoon as joint venture partners Eutelsat and Viasat are splitting on a major project. Eutelsat is launching KONNECT, its own massive increase in Ka-band capacity in 2021 and has new partners to work with on that deal. Oh, and it is bailing on its potential partnership for the ViaSat-3's EMEA coverage.

JetBlue’s A320 retrofit finally underway

The JetBlue implementation of LiveTV4 includes larger, brighter screens, but still not the Android-based underlying OS that makes AVANT so flexible and responsive.

More than two years after initially announced the JetBlue A320 retrofit program is finally underway. The first aircraft is now in the shop and will exit with at least one previously undisclosed surprise on board.
