Just another 4:30am alarm clock, set to go make and adventure in air world. This time it was chasing down the first FlyFi wifi flight on JetBlue’s E90 fleet. And it was awesome, even with the early start.

JetBlue & MLB: Play Ball
With tons of bandwidth available through its satellite wifi connection JetBlue is upping the content library, adding MLB.tv live streaming on all its flights.
Friday Flyday: Chasing the Sunset Across America
It was a bit of a mess to get started thanks to PANYNJ and the JFK AirTrain. But we made the flight and it was a spectacular one. I love chasing the sun west across the globe. We caught up just in time.
Stream from the cloud while in the clouds!
JetBlue and Amazon Prime are teaming up to offer streaming media for free while in flight. That’s a bold move given bandwidth costs but it just might work out given the changes in the economics the industry is experiencing.
JetBlue’s FlyFi Set to Remain Free
The fastest internet in the sky will remain free for customers as JetBlue re-ups its commitment to keep its FlyFi product fee-free. Alas, the fitting of the smaller E190 planes is delayed a bit, but still expected to complete within a year.
A few notes from JetBlue’s annual earnings call
JetBlue made a few hundred million in profits in 2014. It plans to do better than that in 2015, with new planes and new fees. Ancillaries are huge in the industry and JetBlue is pretty good at scoring on that front.
Hating hater hates on in-flight internet
I love a good rant, particularly a well written one published under the guise of “news” by the NYTimes. Alas, this week’s lamenting on in-flight internet misses the boat a bit.
JetBlue falls to Wall Street
Financial analysts have managed to convince JetBlue it needs more passengers on each plane. Look for tighter pitch on the A320 fleet starting in 2016. At least WiFi will remain free for now.
The flight I chose, and the RPU winner is…
What’s the difference between in-flight comfort and enjoying the trip overall? Just one example: I’m flying coach rather than business class because I know I’ll arrive more alert and happier.
The tale of three in-flight internet services
It is not often that one gets to test multiple in-flight wifi providers on the same day. I guess I can say I got lucky in that regard. Getting to use three different services within a 10-day span made for some good “comparison shopping” so to speak.
