
As demand for inflight internet service continues to expand, Embraer is taking steps to ensure its aircraft are not left behind. During the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow the manufacturer announced a collection of updates for the E175s, including the availability of Ku and Ka-band satellite connectivity for retrofit by 2026.
The company’s regional jets feature a smaller diameter fuselage, making it harder to fit a traditional antenna and radome on board efficiently. Moreover, the E175s are shorter and lighter than the E190s, further increasing the aerodynamic challenges.
