Wondering where SmartSky’s air-to-ground inflight WiFi towers are? The company appears happy to share that information. It released a map showing the coverage footprint in response to “several requests for a coverage map to illustrate the availability of SmartSky’s inflight connectivity and the distinctive way in which it is delivered.”

Spirit wins Newark slots, with conditions to keep them

European delay compensation rule reaches across the Atlantic

Air Canada fined $2 million in DOT settlement

SmartSky wins millions from, injunction against WSS

The legal battle between SmartSky and supplier WSS reached its conclusion, with SmartSky scoring a massive win. Following their initial lawsuits filed in September, and a WSS counterclaim in December, a binding arbitration ruling announced this week delivered victory to SmartSky on 14 distinct claims.

US DOT seeks major penalty for Air Canada’s no refund policy

It took more than a year, but the US Department of Transportation is ready to pursue regulatory actions against Air Canada. Citing a lack of progress in resolving the issue through an agreed consent order assessing a civil penalty, the DOT filed a formal complaint against the airline, seeking more the $25 million in damages.
