
The next generation of inflight internet for regional jets is now flying. The first commercial aircraft to be fitted with the Intelsat multi-orbit solution, featuring the Gilat/Stellar Blu Sidewinder terminal has left the installation facility and appears to be headed towards entry into passenger service.

Intelsat has contracts with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines, and Air Canada for its regional jet solution. The planes are all expected to be retrofit with the new hardware by the end of 2025.
