JetBlue pushes TATL further away, teases “Junior Mint” cabin

JetBlue spent the past several years teasing the idea of transatlantic flying. The company believes its Mint business class service could clean up in a market that sees high fares and relatively limited competition. Alas, it remains a dream in many ways. The market was reminded this morning at an investor briefing that such a “distraction” is not welcome at this time.

Another tiny lavatory preps for flight on American Airlines

28 September 2018 By Seth Miller 1 Comment

One of many smaller lavatories on the market and available to airlines. The US DoT is proposing some small changes to regulations around these lavs, but they come up far short of mandating an equivalent travel experience for passengers with reduced mobility.

Sick and tired of tiny airplane toilets? The news out of Aircraft Interiors Expo this week in Boston (collocated with APEX EXPO) probably won’t improve that feeling. Diehl Aerospace showed off its 31″ lavatory for the A320 family of aircraft, soon to be retrofit on American Airlines airplanes.

This story is about: A320, A320neo, Airbus, AIX, American Airlines, APEXEXPO, APEXEXPO18, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, lavatory, Southwest Airlines, Space Flex v2, SpaceFlex, SpaceFlex v2, United Airlines Filed Under: Seats & Cabin

JetBlue Grows Up with A220 order: Big shoes (and planes) to fill

11 July 2018 By Seth Miller 2 Comments

Aircraft delivery schedule for JetBlue over the coming years.

JetBlue’s move to dump the Embraer E190 fleet in favor of the Bombardier CSeries newly branded Airbus A220 comes as a surprise only in terms of timing. And as JetBlue’s fleet evolves to include the CSeries A220 (and A321neo) a number of questions arise over the carrier’s growth plans.
