More Asia for Minneapolis: Delta to add MSP-Seoul service in 2019

14 June 2018 By Seth Miller Leave a Comment

The little storage space for a charging phone is a bright spot in the face of otherwise limited storage on the new Delta Premium Select seat

An airline joint venture actually delivering new routes and connectivity rather than cutting traffic?? Looks like Delta and Korean Air are set to make it happen with new service between Seoul and Minneapolis starting next year.

A not-quite-Basic Economy across the Atlantic

29 May 2018 By Seth Miller 1 Comment

Fares are going up across the Pond. All three major alliance JVs now offer some sort of Basic Economy for transatlantic travel. The Star Alliance A++ group launched its version this week, with sales starting 5 June 2018. No checked bag, no changes and no upgrades are the main limits, though there is more nuance in the details.

This story is about: A++, Air Canada, ancillary fees, antitrust imunity, Austrian, basic economy, Brussels Airlines, checked baggage, economy class, fees, joint venture, Lufthansa, Lufthansa Group, seating, Swiss, United Airlines Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports, Distribution

This story is about: American Airlines, Beijing, BJS, British Airways, Caribbean, Chicago, China, Heathrow, joint venture, LHR, London, MIA, Miami, O'Hare, ORD, PEK, routes Filed Under: Airplanes and Airports

Basic Economy goes global on Delta

14 December 2017 By Seth Miller 1 Comment

Market “segmentation” revenue is growing faster than ever at Delta and the carrier plans to maintain that pace. Basic Economy on a global scale is the next step on that path.

Put another way: Get ready to pay more for less everywhere you fly.

This story is about: Air France, basic economy, Delta Air Lines, joint venture, KLM, LCCs, PaxEx, premium economy, XL Airways Filed Under: Seats & Cabin
