Global Airlines’ questionable partnership claims continue

Global Airlines had a spectacular opportunity, with the travel media world in attendance as the carrier hosted its “Welcome Aboard” party in London on 28 July. Instead, CEO James Asquith took the opportunity to once again highlight a bunch of brands that Global Airlines does not yet have a formal partnership with.

Connect pushes forward on certification, expects American Airlines investment

Connect Airlines aims to bring its Q400 fleet to Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport and beyond.

Connect Airlines has been quiet of late, but that does not mean the company has not been busy. As it continues to work with the FAA towards certification of its operations, the company also scored new funding, adjusted its organizational structure, and expects that a major US airline will buy in to the plan.

Gogo launches AVANCE LX5, a more compact ATG solution

US DOT suspends consideration of Allegiant, VivaAerobus JV application

Since December 2021 Allegiant and VivaAerobus have been pursuing antitrust immunity from the US Department of Transportation to operate a transborder joint venture between the US and Mexico. Today that application took a somewhat unexpected turn, with the DOT suspending the procedural review, owing to factors well outside the control of either airline.

Gogo 5G takes a year delay on additional chip flaws

The Gogo 5G service will, once again, be delayed. The company announced a design error which must be resolved prior to deployment. Gogo 5G is now expected to go live in mid-2024, pending resolution of the chip flaws.
