Royal Jordanian updates, expands BlueBox IFE offering

The in-flight entertainment on Royal Jordanian just got a bit better. The Jordanian national carrier expanded its “SkyConnect” wireless IFE service to the Embraer E175 and E195 family aircraft. The solution is powered by the Bluebox Wow portable IFE platform.

FlightPath3D hits another installation milestone

FlightPath3D is expanding beyond just flight maps on board, with airline route maps and flight schedule options, too

What does an industry recovery look like? Airlines investing in the on-board product is a strong indicator, and FlightPath3D’s record so far in 2021 suggests things are getting better in a hurry. The company announced an additional 500 aircraft fitted with its moving maps solution in the first half of 2021.

Bluebox, Aerospace Engineering secure certification for plug-in model

The Bluebox Wow streaming IFE solution is now available as a plug-in model. The company announced certification from EASA this week, allowing the updated option to be installed on A320 aircraft.

American Airlines won’t bring back IFE screens

Don't expect this seat-back view to change on American Airlines anytime soon. IFE screens are not coming back, despite United's moves.

In-seat screens are not coming back to American Airlines’ single-aisle fleet. The company doubled down on its decision to focus on streaming entertainment on board in the wake of United Airlines’ about face on the issue, citing technical and ecological reasons.

British Airways brings back on-board food sales

Passengers on some British Airways short-haul flights can, once again, order a snack or drink during the flight, but only through the on-board web portal

It turns out that most travelers do not know what they want as a snack more than 24 hours prior to their travels. British Airways appears to have learned this lesson as the carrier will enable in-flight ordering from its buy-on-board menu for departures from its Heathrow base.

Air Cairo adds Moment’s Flymingo wireless IFE

Breeze sets initial routes; first flight next week

The initial route map for Breeze Airways, a mix of business and leisure markets across the southern and eastern US

Breeze is ready to take flight. The newest US carrier announced its route network today, serving 39 nonstop routes between 16 cities in the Southwest, Midwest, Southeast and Eastern US. The airline will waste no time getting its planes into service. The first flights will operate next Thursday, from Tampa to Charleston and then to Hartford.
