China Eastern launches local live TV on board with Panasonic Avionics

Live television in flight is coming to China. Panasonic Avionics will deliver multiple channels of live TV service to China Eastern as the launch customer of its expanded channel selection, adding multiple Chinese broadcasters to its portfolio.

Royal Jordanian updates, expands BlueBox IFE offering

The in-flight entertainment on Royal Jordanian just got a bit better. The Jordanian national carrier expanded its “SkyConnect” wireless IFE service to the Embraer E175 and E195 family aircraft. The solution is powered by the Bluebox Wow portable IFE platform.

FlightPath3D hits another installation milestone

FlightPath3D is expanding beyond just flight maps on board, with airline route maps and flight schedule options, too

What does an industry recovery look like? Airlines investing in the on-board product is a strong indicator, and FlightPath3D’s record so far in 2021 suggests things are getting better in a hurry. Bluebox, Aerospace Engineering secure certification for plug-in model

American Airlines won’t bring back IFE screens

Don't expect this seat-back view to change on American Airlines anytime soon. IFE screens are not coming back, despite United's moves.

British Airways brings back on-board food sales

Passengers on some British Airways short-haul flights can, once again, order a snack or drink during the flight, but only through the on-board web portal

It turns out that most travelers do not know what they want as a snack more than 24 hours prior to their travels. British Airways appears to have learned this lesson as the carrier will enable in-flight ordering from its buy-on-board menu for departures from its Heathrow base.

Singapore Airlines expands in-flight shopping with on-ground fulfillment

Singapore Airlines wants to sell more on board, with fulfillment on the ground. An update to the IFE system on some A350s will support this.

In-flight shopping took a new turn on Singapore Airlines as the carrier unveils an expanded on-board shopping experience. With a range of delivery options, the expanded KrisShop melds the convenience of on-board shopping with inventory only possible through a warehouse on the ground.
