JetBlue’s 25th Birthday Challenge, and My Plan of Attack

This is a pretty terrible idea. But, at least for the moment, I’ve got a plan that will see me fly to 25 unique JetBlue airports over the next few months, collecting 350,000 TrueBlue points and 25 years of Mosaic 1 status along the way.

Carrot or stick: American ties more to AAdvantage in 2024 update

The new American Airlines Flagship Suite on the 787-9 offers a fully flat bed, sliding door for privacy, and a single piece tray table, among other amenities.

Star Alliance, HSBC launch an Australian credit card

The new Star Alliance credit card, first teased in May of this year, is now live in Australia. Launched in partnership with HSBC, the first of its kind co-brand credit card allows members to earn Star Alliance Points and elite status with seven partner airline loyalty programs.

Qantas returns to New York City, via Auckland

Qantas is poised to return to New York City from mid-2023. But rather than connecting in Los Angeles, as was scheduled prior to the COVID-19 outbreak, passengers will now connect in Auckland before the 16 hour trip to JFK.

Star Alliance credit card coming this fall

Why would an airline alliance launch a loyalty credit card? The obvious answer is money. Co-brand credit cards are massive drivers of revenue for airlines. But historically that has applied at the airline level, not at the alliance level. Star Alliance will change that later this year when the group launches its own card.

Qantas boosts rebound, points opportunities with Australia border reopening

Australia is reopening its borders, and Qantas is ready to take advantage of the pent up demand for travel. The airline will accelerate the return of many international routes, as well as larger aircraft, to support consumer demand. It is also adding a frequent flyer twist, with several “points planes” loaded for travelers.
