Another regional connectivity deal is done

ThinKom's ThinAir family now has a new kid brother. The company formally launched the ThinAir Ka1717 offering this week, offering a smaller, lighter solution targeting the regional jet market.

No one is willing to spill the beans completely, but it appears ThinKom has secured an airline launch customer for its Ka1717 regional jet inflight internet solution.

Delta looks to flex at Haneda

In 2019 Delta Air Lines won big in the Haneda slot allocations. Four years later, however, the carrier sees dramatically different demand patterns and is seeking permission from the US Department of Transportation to alter its gateway cities, without going through a new slot allocation proceeding.

ViaSat-3 Americas launches successfully

The first ViaSat-3 satellite successfully launched from Cape Canaveral on Sunday night, beginning its short ride to geostationary orbit where it will open the next generation of satellite communications, including the inflight market.

Viasat confirms Delta fleet growth

More Delta planes are now confirmed to be receiving the Viasat inflight Wi-Fi hardware over the next 20ish months.

Viasat will install its inflight internet solution across more than 1,000 planes for Delta Air Lines as part of an updated agreement between the two companies. The deal includes all active aircraft in its Airbus A330, Airbus A350, and Boeing 767 fleets.

Alaska Airlines picks Intelsat for E175 streaming WiFi upgrade
