JetBlue outlines Mint, TATL growth for 2023

New planes are on the way, and JetBlue plans to resume growth in 2023. But the company anticipates a bit of turbulence along the way. With its A220 and A321neo fleets expanding (10 more expected in 2022, 32 in 2023) the company needs to plan for where they will make the most impact on operations.

Spirit wins Newark slots, with conditions to keep them

JetBlue secures permanent Heathrow slots, expands London operations

JetBlue will operate up to five daily flights to London from this Winter. And, perhaps more significantly, the carrier secured its first permanent slots at Heathrow, ensuring that flights can continue there.

JetBlue delays Boston-London launch

Spirit Airlines sees a merger with JetBlue as unattainable. Not for lack of interest, mind you. JetBlue’s cash offer of $3.6 billion still stands. But doubts around the likelihood of regulatory approval have Spirit’s Board of Directors recommending that it continue to move forward with the previously planned Frontier merger instead. Assuming even that can get past regulators.

Avelo adds Orlando base, continues expansion

Upstart Avelo Airlines sees big potential in Orlando. The airline will establish a new crew and aircraft base in Central Florida, bringing new competition to the market. Avelo plans for ten destinations served from Orlando by the end of the year.

JetBlue will close two stations and delay two routes as part of its schedule cuts this summer. Another eleven routes will also operate “for at least a portion of the summer season” per a message shared with in-flight crewmembers.
