The Turkish Airlines 737-800 fleet will fly with wifi on board from late 2020

Adding more than 100 Turkish Airlines planes to its inflight connectivity backlog is good news for Global Eagle. Perhaps more significant, however, is the potential for additional program growth that come from the partnerships it established to secure this Turkish Airlines deal.

Vueling gets online with Inmarsat’s EAN connectivity

28 October 2019 By Seth Miller Leave a Comment

Flying an LCC in Europe no longer means being disconnected while in the sky. IAG’s Vueling operation soft-launched inflight wifi connectivity delivered via the European Aviation Network (EAN), powered by Inmarsat and Deutsche Telekom, on five of its aircraft earlier this month. Vueling is the third EAN airline and the first LCC with the service.

Much meaning to MAX movements??

28 August 2019 By Seth Miller

Spotting 737 MAX aircraft in the air these days is relatively rare. Boeing continues to run occasional test flights, in addition to moving planes to out of the way airports as it stores new build frames. United Airlines is moving its fleet to Goodyear Airport on the west side of Phoenix, Arizona this in a move that it suggests is tied to storage needs and eventually preparing to return the planes to service. And then there's a single plane flying around northern Canada for some strange reason.

Spirit’s WiFi Install Woes

14 August 2019 By Seth Miller

Fast wifi, fleet wide and flying in about a year. The original announcement between Thales Inflyt and Spirit Airlines laid out an aggressive plan to fit the low cost carrier's fleet with inflight connectivity service. More than a year later, however, only a handful of planes have the system installed and it is not active for passengers on any of them. What happened and when will it get better??
